Choose Ratio if
You calculate on a Mac and want a fast, good-looking notepad calculator without paying $59. Ratio also has a lot built in for work maths: VAT by country (“1000 + VAT”), loan payments (“pmt(5%/12, 360, 200k)”), working days that skip public holidays, equations, and developer helpers like hex, colours and “chmod 755”.
Choose Soulver if
You need your sheets on iPhone and iPad, want live stock prices or Wolfram|Alpha answers, or prefer a long 60-day trial before buying.
Moving from Soulver
Most Soulver lines work in Ratio as they are. Copy a sheet, paste it into Ratio, and the answers appear.
