# Splitting the rent template

Put `@names` after each cost to say who shares it. `split` works out what each person owes, even when not everyone uses everything.

## How it works

Each `@name` on a line shares that cost equally with the other names on it. Jack doesn't pay for cleaning and Emma doesn't watch Netflix, so their parts differ.

## Make it yours

Rename the people, change the amounts, and add a line for every shared bill. If one person has the bigger room, give them their own line: `Big room extra 100 @Emma`.

## Questions

**Can people pay me back from the link?** Yes. Share the sheet from Ratio, and if you add your Revolut or PayPal username in Settings, each person gets a button to pay their part.

**Can I split by room size instead?** Yes. Work out each share on its own line, like `Rent 1500 * 40%`, and tag it with that person's name.
